This is the part you’ve been waiting for! Now that you’ve got PocketMine installed, it’s time to configure several options including the message players get when the first join (MOTD), port number, server name, number of people allowed, server description, etc. Locate the place you installed PocketMine in. Open the file named server.properties with notepad or the text editor of your choice.
This is a quick setup. For more options to tinker with in the server properties head over here.
- Change MOTD field. Example: motd=”Welcome to my MCPE server!”
- Change server-name. Example: server-name=”AwesomeServer”
- Change description. Example: description=”Awesome 24/7 Server”
Now save the file, and exit.
One of the great things that PocketMine MP offers is the ability to install plugins that allows you to create economies, make “flying carpets”, and make spawn protectors. To download a plugin, head over here. Once the plugin is downloaded, place the downloaded file in the plugin folder.
Now run the PocketMine-MP.php script or click the Start script.
You’ve done it! Now it’s time to enjoy your server!
The server will automatically appear in MCPE appear if you’re on the same wifi network as the computer hosting it. However if you want to be able to play from afar, click here.
Please consider taking the time to sign this petition. While the task to patch an IP is tedious, Mojang could theoretically make it easier by allowing players to connect via IP instead of forcing them to buy/use realms.
